We have been familiar with the Michelin stars awarded for over 120 years, which reward the best restaurants in France and around the world. Now for the “keys”. This Monday, the Guide will unveil the first list of its keys, a new label reserved this time for hotels.

“The French hotel scene really sets the tone”

It is from a selection of 5,300 establishments across 120 countries around the world that the Michelin guide has selected its list of keys. This Monday, it will reveal the exclusively French addresses, the international director of the guide, Gwendal Poullennec, tells Europe 1: “The French hotel scene really sets the tone. There is great diversity. There are addresses all over the country. ."

Nights from 100 euros

On its site, the Guide gives tips: the Domaine de la Klauss in Moselle, the Château de Saint-Georges near Bourges or even the Clos Sainte Marguerite in Beaune. All meet the five criteria: architecture, authenticity, contribution to the interest of the destination, quality of service and value for money.

Michelin also promises nights from 100 euros and a selection that saves travelers time. “The service that Michelin offers is intended to simplify their lives. Because you know, on average today, a traveler will spend more than 10 hours on ten different platforms,” he says. A different philosophy but a similar business model. Like Booking, the Michelin guide will receive a commission of 10 to 15% per reservation made on its platform.
