Renfe will eliminate four daily connections (two in each direction) between Madrid and Valencia starting
April 8 and continuing into July,
due to the expansion works that Adif is carrying out at the Madrid Chamartín station.
Renfe has reported this Friday of the reorganization of the train services that
connect both cities from next Monday
, so that the offer will go from 32 to 28 high-speed services daily between Madrid and Valencia during the works, which means maintaining the 95% of the places with the capital of Spain.
The objective of the works at the Chamartín station is
to double its capacity for high-speed
and long-distance trains, a new service structure that will bring with it a daily AVE connection between València and León, with intermediate stops in Segovia, Valladolid and Palencia .
Adif's improvement works to expand and transform the Chamartín station
will entail a reorganization of the service
, directly affecting several tracks of the Madrid station, with the consequent adjustment of the terminal's operational capacity.
As soon as Talgo delivers the new S106 trains, Renfe will put them into circulation, which will
optimize the capacity of the infrastructure
and offer a greater number of seats in some circulations, according to the same sources.
