China News Service, Beijing, April 4th: "Jingfan" Xuzhan Asia's largest underground comprehensive transportation hub is planned to be put into use next year

China News Network reporter Lu Shaowei

"The construction of two steel structures of the 'Jingfan' roof has been completed, and the construction of the third and fourth steel structures is in progress. In the near future, the 'Jingfan' roof composed of ten 'sails' will shine Come on stage." Liu Xinjian, deputy director of the Construction Management Department of Beijing Investment Hub Company, told reporters, pointing to the "Jingfan" roof project ahead.

"Jing Sail" is the top structural design of the above-ground main body of the Beijing Sub-Central Station Comprehensive Transportation Hub (hereinafter referred to as the "Sub-Central Station Hub") project. The structure is shaped like a raised sail. The reporter saw at the construction site that two "Jingfan" roofs had "surfaced" from the ground, and construction vehicles continued to pass by in an orderly manner around them. Workers shuttled among them, directing and dispatching, carrying materials, and welding steel frames. It was a lively scene.

According to reports, the integrated construction area of the sub-central station hub is about 61 hectares, with an underground construction scale of 1.28 million square meters and an above-ground planned construction scale of about 1.39 million square meters. After completion, it will become the largest underground comprehensive transportation hub in Asia. The exterior design of this "super project" has attracted much attention.

Why does the “Jingfan” solution stand out? Liu Xinjian introduced that the sub-central station hub is the closest transportation hub to the thousand-year-old canal. The plan aims to use modern design techniques to form an unfolding, continuous and agile image of "Beijing Sails", paying tribute to the prosperity of the Grand Canal in history when "thousands of sails competed in succession and hundreds of boats competed for the flow".

In addition to being creative and novel, the "Jingfan" roof is also full of technology. It adopts a "one structure and two layers" structural system. The upper layer is a sail surface composed of a tensile membrane surface layer, a steel structure and a sunshade metal plate, and the lower layer is a roof composed of ETFE air pillow membranes. This not only saves energy but also ensures lighting, allowing sunlight to shine directly from the roof to the platform level, which has both thermal insulation and thermal insulation properties.

Taking the engineering elevator at the construction site, the reporter came to the underground floor of the sub-central station hub for a "preview". It is very open and bright, with an oval-shaped lighting space at the top. "There are three underground floors in the main station area of the hub. From top to bottom they are the urban living floor, the waiting hall floor and the intercity railway platform floor. In the future, passengers will enter the station and take the train directly to Beijing Capital International Airport in 15 minutes. It takes 35 minutes to reach Beijing Daxing International Airport directly, and 1 hour to Hebei Xiongan New District and Tianjin Jinbin New District." Liu Xinjian said.

According to the plan, as the transportation center of Beijing's sub-center, the project will integrate 2 intercity railways, 4 urban rail transits, 1 backbone railway, 1 suburban railway and 15 bus feeder lines, becoming an "on-track railway". An important fulcrum of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei"; it will form a "station-city integration" urban complex built with the concept of TOD (public transportation-oriented urban space development model) covering offices, businesses, apartments, hotels and other business types, and build a characteristic business The office complex and city-level dynamic business circle have become the vital center of the city's sub-center.

The reporter overlooked the entire hub project from the third-floor observation platform of the project headquarters and saw the vast construction site. The "skeleton" of the hub has begun to take shape, and huge tower cranes are distributed in rows and are running non-stop. Lu Gaofeng, deputy general manager of Beijing Investment Hub Company, said that in order to ensure a "good start" in the first quarter, Beijing Investment Hub Company has made every effort to promote the construction of the main structure, municipal supporting projects, roof steel structure, secondary structure, and finely decorated model rooms. As of now, the earthwork construction of the main project of the sub-central station hub is nearly completed, and the structure is 87% complete.

The sub-central station hub project started on November 30, 2019. According to the plan, the main structure construction will be completed by the end of December 2024, and it will be gradually put into use in 2025 with the opening of Beijing-Tangshan Intercity and other lines. Since the start of the project, a cumulative fixed asset investment of more than 17.3 billion yuan has been completed.

"We are confident that we will steadily advance the project construction as planned. A transportation, commercial and cultural complex full of 'technological' and cultural atmosphere will soon rise from the ground, and the 'Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei on Track' will also speed up again." Lu Gaofeng Said with longing. (over)
