In order to better understand the status of patent industrialization, our office has carried out Chinese patent surveys for 16 consecutive years. The latest "my country Patent Survey Report 2023" shows that the industrialization rate of effective invention patents of Chinese enterprises has steadily increased, and the efficiency of patent conversion and application continues to improve.
First, the industrialization rate of enterprise invention patents exceeded 50% for the first time
. The survey shows that in 2023, the industrialization rate of invention patents by Chinese enterprises will reach 51.3%, an increase of 3.2 percentage points from the previous year, and has maintained a growth trend for five consecutive years.
Second, high-tech enterprises have a higher level of patent industrialization.
In 2023, the industrialization rate of invention patents by national high-tech enterprises will reach 57.6%, an increase of 1.5 percentage points from the previous year and 19.5 percentage points higher than that of non-national high-tech enterprises.
Third, the comprehensive use of patented brands exerts a "multiplier effect."
In 2023, the average income from the industrialization of invention patents used by Chinese companies for self-branded products will be more than twice the average income from the industrialization of invention patents used for OEM products, and the benefits of the comprehensive use of patents and brands will be more prominent.
Fourth, enterprise industry-university-research cooperation focuses on key core technologies.
Among the industry-university-research cooperation carried out by enterprises, the proportion of key technologies or core components is the highest at 56.1%, indicating that industry-university-research cooperation plays an important role in the research of key core technologies.
Ge Shu pointed out that the investigation also found that some companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, still have some difficulties in patent conversion and industrialization. Not long ago, the State Intellectual Property Office, together with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the People's Bank of China, the State Administration of Financial Supervision, and the China Securities Regulatory Commission, jointly issued the "Implementation Plan for Patent Industrialization to Promote the Growth of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises", targeting technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises with innovative capabilities. , adopting a combination of "inclusive services + key cultivation" to promote the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises through patent industrialization and cultivate new momentum for high-quality development.
