In order to better leverage the role of this treasure land in attracting and hosting high-end talents, five exclusive policies to support the talent island’s gathering of talents were announced at the opening ceremony.
It is understood that these policies include exclusive policies for gathering talents in five aspects: special empowerment support, subsidy and reward upgrades, Hong Kong and Macao platform support, Shenzhen-China integration support, and preferential treatment for foreign talents.
At the same time, it also supports the Zhongshan Institute of Drug Innovation on the Talent Island and universities in Hong Kong and Macao to jointly train a certain number of graduate students in biomedicine every year.
The talent policy of Zhongshan International Talent Island also provides preferential treatment for foreign talents. Specific measures include allowing foreign-funded R&D centers in Talent Island to apply for a one-time work permit not exceeding the labor contract period and a work-type residence permit not exceeding 5 years for the foreign members they employ. For high-end foreign talents hired by foreign-funded R&D centers, those who meet the conditions can apply for work permits by means of notification and commitment, vacancy acceptance, etc.
At the same time, talents who come to work in the talent island and have a master's degree or above from abroad will be given preferential treatment in terms of housing, children's education, spouse's employment, and medical security.
Zhang Yuanliang said that after the pilot, when the time is right, the special support policy for the talent island will be extended to cover the city's headquarters enterprises, chain master enterprises and leading backbone (cultivation) enterprises in the manufacturing industry, gradually realizing a wider range of talent policy upgrades, and creating a better future.
