Sheng Qiuping, Vice Minister of Commerce, said that with the strong support of relevant departments and local governments, the preparations for this Consumer Expo have been basically completed, the exhibition recruitment work has been basically completed, and domestic and foreign merchants have actively participated. Compared with previous editions, this Consumer Expo has the following three highlights:

  First, it is the first to launch an island-wide exhibition model. Taking advantage of the ecological advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port and gathering high-quality resources across the island, this year's Consumer Expo innovatively implemented the "1+N island-wide exhibition". In addition to continuing to set up the main venue at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, three new sub-venues for sailing and yachting, duty-free shopping, and international health have been added in Haikou, Boao and other places, making full use of the free trade port's expansion of "zero-tariff" transportation and yacht lists. Policy dividends reflect new consumption scenarios, new areas, and new highlights.

  Second, the scale has reached a new record high. As the largest consumer boutique exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region, this year's Consumer Expo is expected to have an indoor exhibition area of ​​128,000 square meters, plus maritime exhibitions, which will exceed previous exhibition areas. More than 3,000 brands from 59 countries and regions will participate in the exhibition. The United Kingdom, Mongolia, Malaysia and other countries will organize groups to participate in the exhibition for the first time.

  Third, the activities are more abundant and exciting. The Ministry of Commerce will launch a series of "International Consumption Season" activities in the second quarter. This year's Consumer Expo will "lead the way" for the International Consumption Season, giving full play to the advantages of globalization and hosting a series of country-specific events such as Ireland's Guest of Honor and "British Brand Day" Activities, more than 300 theme activities and special activities such as global consumer innovation and new product debuts will also be carried out. Hainan will also hold supporting activities to promote consumption during the international consumption season to create a warm atmosphere of "buying from around the world".

  Sheng Qiuping emphasized that at present, there is still half a month before the exhibition is held. The Ministry of Commerce will continue to work with member units of the Consumer Expo Organizing Committee to further strengthen coordination, consolidate work responsibilities, and pool work efforts to achieve greater determination. , faster pace, more practical measures, meticulous and accurate preparations for the exhibition, and making each session of the Consumer Expo more exciting than the last.
