The National Institute of Statistics (INE) has confirmed that GDP accelerated in the fourth quarter, growing by 0.6% and 2.5% for the year as a whole. The data exceeds any of the forecasts that had been made, including those of the Government, which is once again holding on to the progress of the economy at its moment of greatest political weakness.

"The final data for 2023 published today by the INE confirm once again the good progress of the Spanish economy. In the face of catastrophic forecasts or biased stories, the figures are incontestable," says the Minister of Economy, Carlos Body, in a video distributed to the media.
