The jacket platform is the most widely used offshore oil and gas production facility in the world. The jacket is equivalent to the "foundation" and is used to support the huge body and huge tonnage of the offshore oil and gas platform. The "Haiji No. 2" jacket has a total height of 338.5 meters and a total weight of nearly 37,000 tons. It is the tallest and heaviest jacket in Asia.
Since the huge tonnage of "Hai Ji 2" exceeds the hoisting capacity of the world's largest crane ship, this offshore installation was carried out using the slip-launch method, using the jacket's own gravity and hydraulic jack assistance to smoothly slide it from the barge into the sea. Then, through the combination of jacket water injection and crane ship assistance, centering and bottoming and accurate positioning are achieved.
The installation site of "Haiji No. 2" is located in the waters of Liuhua Oilfield, about 240 kilometers southeast of Shenzhen. The application water depth is about 324 meters. It is the first time that China has installed a fixed jacket in waters with a water depth of more than 300 meters. The sea area is prone to typhoons. Shu Wei, general contracting project manager of CNOOC Offshore Engineering Liuhua Oilfield, said that the project team deployed resources such as Asia's largest launch barge "Offshore Oil 229" and China's largest offshore oil and gas engineering crane ship "Blue Whale 7500" to comprehensively improve ship transportation and The installation capability enables the "Haiji-2" to achieve precise positioning through 324 meters of deep water, and the installation accuracy reaches the international advanced level.
In recent years, China has carried out nearly 50 sliding and launching operations of large-scale jackets, with a cumulative installation weight of 750,000 tons. The construction scale, maximum weight, and total tonnage are among the best in the world.
