Cook said that Apple plans to achieve carbon neutrality for all Apple products by 2030 and has made many efforts around this goal. Since 2015, Apple's comprehensive carbon footprint has been reduced by more than 45%, which is great progress. Last year Apple had its first carbon-neutral product, the newly launched Apple Watch, which was also a big step forward.

He said that from a material perspective, we hope to be able to manufacture products without taking any resources from the earth, which means we must have strong enough technical support to achieve good recycling. From an electricity perspective, we have been using electricity produced from renewable energy, and Apple and its suppliers currently support more than 15 gigawatts of renewable energy globally, with the majority of projects located in China.

Cook said that Chinese suppliers not only accepted Apple's goals, but also continued to innovate in the process and proactively developed new ways to help Apple achieve its goals. This week he visited several Chinese suppliers, including BYD, and found that in everything they do, they question whether they can save more energy. Currently, these suppliers have made significant progress in using recycling technologies, renewable energy, etc.

"I think 1+1 must be greater than 2, and cooperation is crucial." He said that many of our partners are from China. We cannot achieve our goals without the cooperation of our suppliers. (over)
