From January to February, telecom business revenue increased steadily, the total volume of telecom business maintained double-digit growth, the construction of 5G and gigabit optical fiber networks was advanced in an orderly manner, the number of users continued to expand, mobile data traffic showed rapid growth, and the overall communications industry achieved stability Get started.

1. Overall operation situation

  Telecom business volume grew steadily. From January to February, telecommunications business revenue totaled 292.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%. The total volume of telecommunications business calculated at constant prices in the previous year increased by 14.4% year-on-year.

  Revenue from fixed Internet broadband services increased steadily. From January to February, the three basic telecommunications companies completed Internet broadband business revenue of 44.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%, accounting for 15.1% of telecommunications business revenue, driving telecommunications business revenue growth by 1 percentage point.

  Mobile data traffic business revenue declined slightly. From January to February, the three basic telecommunications companies completed mobile data traffic business revenue of 106.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.6%, accounting for 36.4% of telecommunications business revenue.

  Emerging business revenue maintained double-digit growth. The three basic telecommunications companies are actively developing emerging businesses such as IPTV, Internet data centers, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things. From January to February, they achieved a total business revenue of 75.76 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.3%, accounting for 25.9% of the telecommunications business revenue, driving Telecom business revenue increased by 2.8 percentage points. Among them, cloud computing and big data revenue increased by 17.3% and 30.3% year-on-year respectively, and Internet of Things business revenue increased by 8.5% year-on-year.

  Voice business revenue continues to decline. From January to February, the three basic telecommunications companies completed fixed voice and mobile voice business revenue of 2.95 billion yuan and 17.76 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 6.4% and 3.1% respectively, accounting for 7.1% of the telecommunications business revenue, and the proportion dropped 0.6 percentage points year-on-year. .

2. Development of telecommunications users

  The number of gigabit users continues to expand. As of the end of February, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 643 million, a net increase of 6.774 million from the end of the previous year. Among them, fixed Internet broadband access users with access speeds of 100Mbps and above reached 608 million, accounting for 94.5% of the total number of users; fixed Internet broadband access users with access speeds of 1,000Mbps and above reached 172 million, a net increase from the end of the previous year An increase of 8.301 million households accounted for 26.7% of the total number of users, an increase of 1 percentage point from the end of the previous year.

  5G users account for nearly 50%. As of the end of February, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecommunications companies and China Radio and Television reached 1.746 billion, a net increase of 2.409 million from the end of the previous year. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 851 million, a net increase of 29.22 million from the end of the previous year; accounting for 48.8% of mobile phone users, an increase of 2.2 percentage points from the end of the previous year.

  Cellular Internet of Things users are growing rapidly, and IPTV (Internet TV) users are increasing steadily. As of the end of February, the three basic telecommunications companies had developed 2.364 billion cellular IoT terminal users, a net increase of 31.99 million from the end of the previous year, accounting for 57.5% of the number of mobile network terminal connections (including mobile phone users and cellular IoT terminal users) . The total number of IPTV (Internet TV) users reached 405 million, a net increase of 4.246 million from the end of the previous year.

3. Telecommunications business usage

  The growth rate of mobile Internet traffic remained at a high level, with the DOU value reaching 15GB/household in February. From January to February, the cumulative traffic of mobile Internet reached 48.76 billion GB, a year-on-year increase of 16.6%, and the growth rate increased by 4.6 percentage points year-on-year. As of the end of February, the number of mobile Internet users reached 1.522 billion, a net increase of 2.508 million from the end of the previous year. In February, the average mobile Internet access traffic (DOU) per household reached 14.96GB/household·month, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%, and an increase of 0.92GB/household·month over the same period last year.

  The volume of mobile phone calls fell slightly, and the growth rate of mobile SMS business revenue turned positive. From January to February, the duration of outbound calls on mobile phones was 342 billion minutes, a year-on-year decrease of 4.6%; the duration of outbound calls on fixed-line phones was 11.01 billion minutes, a year-on-year decrease of 3.7%. From January to February, the national mobile SMS business volume decreased by 2.1% year-on-year; mobile SMS business revenue increased by 4% year-on-year.

4. Communication capabilities

  The construction of gigabit optical fiber broadband network is accelerated. As of the end of February, the number of Internet broadband access ports nationwide reached 1.15 billion, a net increase of 13.08 million from the end of the previous year. Among them, the number of optical fiber access (FTTH/O) ports reached 1.11 billion, a net increase of 14.3 million from the end of the previous year, accounting for 96.5% of Internet broadband access ports. As of the end of February, the number of 10G PON ports with gigabit network service capabilities reached 24.07 million, a net increase of 1.046 million from the end of the previous year.

  5G base stations account for nearly 30%. As of the end of February, the total number of 5G base stations reached 3.509 million, a net increase of 132,000 from the end of the previous year, accounting for 29.8% of the total number of mobile base stations, and an increase of 0.7 percentage points from the end of the previous year.

5. Regional development

  Gigabit users are developing rapidly in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. As of the end of February, the penetration rates of fixed broadband access users of 1,000Mbps and above in the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions were 28%, 26.8%, 26.5% and 18% respectively. The penetration rates of broadband access users with access rates of 1,000Mbps and above in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Yangtze River Delta regions were 28.6% and 26.4% respectively, an increase of 1.1 percentage points from the end of the previous year.

  The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Yangtze River Delta regions lead the country in 5G construction. As of the end of February, the number of 5G base stations in the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions reached 1.577 million, 786,000, 934,000 and 213,000 respectively, accounting for 30.9%, 30.7%, 27.8% and 28% of the total number of mobile phone base stations in the region respectively. %; 5G mobile phone users reached 370.68 million, 201.86 million, 222.11 million, and 56.54 million respectively, accounting for 49.1%, 49.3%, 48.3%, and 46.3% of the total number of mobile phone users in the region. As of the end of February, the number of 5G base stations in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Yangtze River Delta regions reached 341,000 and 682,000 respectively, accounting for 32.7% and 31.4% of the total number of mobile phone base stations in the region; 5G mobile phone users reached 71.52 million and 154.35 million respectively. households, accounting for 48.2% and 48.6% of the total number of mobile phone users in the region respectively.

  The central region leads the growth rate of mobile Internet access traffic. From January to February, mobile Internet access traffic in the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions reached 20.73 billion GB, 11.34 billion GB, 14.15 billion GB and 2.54 billion GB respectively, a year-on-year increase of 12.9%, 22.5%, 16.9% and 22.3%. Mobile Internet access traffic in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Yangtze River Delta regions reached 3.63 billion GB and 8.49 billion GB respectively, a year-on-year increase of 16% and 9.4%. The average household mobile Internet access traffic (DOU) in the five provinces of Tibet, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Ningxia and Hainan exceeded 20GB/household·month in February; the difference between the highest and lowest DOU values ​​in each province was 17.2GB/household·month. The value increased by 2.7GB/household·month compared with the same period last year.
