Flying a self-propelled plane across the city in search of delicious food, painting the plane with her own name and pattern, working as a coach to help others pursue their dreams... Recently, general aviation pilot You You shared her story of "starting flying" with reporters from China News Service in Chongqing. She said that in recent years, the low-altitude economy has continued to heat up, bringing new career opportunities to the people.

It is reported that the low-altitude economy is a comprehensive economic form that is mainly based on civil manned and unmanned aircraft, driven by low-altitude flight activities in multiple scenarios such as manned, cargo and other operations, and promotes the integrated development of related fields. The reporter combed and found that many provinces in China mentioned the low-altitude economy in the 2024 government work report.

"Before I got into contact with it, I only thought flying was exciting, but now I think it is close to life." Youyou said that she fell in love with low-altitude flying after her "first flight". She not only obtained a general aviation driver's license, but also obtained relevant qualifications as a general aviation flight instructor, becoming "Professional Coach".

Youyou said that the general aviation driver's license does not have strict physical requirements, and the applicable age range is from 17 to 70 years old. Not long ago, she helped a 67-year-old student obtain a driver's license. In terms of cost, it varies depending on the model. "Although it is not cheap, it is not as expensive as imagined." For example, a general aviation company in Liangjiang New District, Chongqing, promised "88,000 yuan (RMB) guaranteed" and said it was "one-stop service without any other fees."

"Some people say that low-altitude flying is just about burning money and having fun, but this is not the case." Ma Xiangming, the head of a general aviation company with many years of experience in the industry, said that Youyou "learns and teaches well" and his income is "not bad." It can completely become the development path for low-altitude economic practitioners.

Youyou's situation is not an isolated one. Zhu Yiran feels that paragliding is "very stress-relieving and slightly cool", so she entered the "paragliding circle" and through a series of "promotions", she is now qualified to "flight". Yang Liang, who entered the drone industry because of his passion, told reporters that he has found opportunities in aerial photography, pesticide spraying, training, etc., and has become one of the "industry big names", and will continue to delve into the industry in the future.

Observers believe that the low-altitude economy, which is widely used in industry, agriculture, service industries and other fields, not only brings employment opportunities and dividends to the people, but also breeds new business forms. For example, many car companies have recently launched “flying car” plans. Industry insiders believe that this will bring opportunities to the "traditional industries" of the low-altitude economy. General aviation companies may operate "flight driving schools" to provide pilots with skills training, procedures, flight hosting and other services.

Mo Yuanming, a researcher at the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Collaborative Development Center of Chongqing Technology and Business University, said that as the level of low-altitude economic innovation becomes more and more intense, in terms of qualifications, physical functions, professional skills, scene references, emergency response, etc. It brings more challenges, excitement and experience to practitioners and players.

Mo Yuanming said that the new track has brought new career opportunities, and new careers have enriched employment options. For those who intend to enter the industry, he suggested that in addition to having a certain financial foundation, they should also have skilled practical skills, stable psychological quality, and good communication skills.
