BYD from Guangdong became Apple's supplier partner in 2008. It initially provided metal casing processing for Apple. It currently provides glass, structural parts and assembly services for multiple product lines such as iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

Hunan-based Lens Technology became Apple's supplier partner in 2006, producing glass protective screens for the first-generation iPhone.

It currently produces glass, metal casings and other parts for multiple product lines such as iPhone, and is also one of the glass suppliers for Apple Vision Pro.

Guangdong's Changying Precision became a member of Apple's supply chain in 2012. It started by providing metal parts for Mac and now provides key appearance parts for Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro and other product lines.

Cook visited the displays of three suppliers on smart manufacturing and green manufacturing.

"I came to China 30 years ago. At that time, the level of automation in factories was still very low. Not many people paid attention to green manufacturing or material recycling, as well as the use of green energy, renewable energy, etc. But now it is completely different. These factories have Very advanced manufacturing capabilities, very high levels of automation, and although there is still a lot of work, they are well trained and their skills have been greatly improved," Cook said.

It is reported that the three suppliers on site have now achieved 100% use of clean energy to produce for Apple.

Regarding the supply chain, Cook said that Apple is focused on two things: one is to provide more training for employees of supply chain companies so that they can adapt to future factory jobs or learn programming skills; on the other hand, Apple is committed to working with these companies. Work closely on green manufacturing and smart manufacturing.

BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu, Lens Technology Chairman Zhou Qunfei, and Changying Precision General Manager Chen Xiaoshuo attended the sharing session.
