Among Japanese companies that are working to strengthen their businesses using generative AI, there is a growing movement to collaborate with American semiconductor giant NVIDIA.

The background to this is the global competition for high-performance semiconductors that are essential for AI.

Among these,

Hitachi announced on March 19th that it will collaborate with NVIDIA.

In addition to jointly developing servers that speed up the processing of generated AI, we will also develop technology to manage power plants, railways, factories, etc. in virtual spaces called metaverses and digital twins.

Mitsui & Co., a major trading company, is collaborating on a project to support drug discovery research and development conducted by pharmaceutical companies, and began full-scale operation of a supercomputer in February.

In addition,

SoftBank is also collaborating on the development of technology for AI data processing at mobile phone base stations, and

NTT Data Group is also collaborating on the digital twin business.

NVIDIA's semiconductors for AI have an overwhelming market share due to their high performance, but with the expansion of generative AI, a global competition is occurring.

Among Japanese companies that are strengthening their businesses using generative AI, it seems likely that the movement to quickly collaborate with NVIDIA will become even more active.
