　　A seminar on urban renewal in the new era, jointly organized by the Institute of Railway Engineering and Tsinghua University Architectural Design and Research Institute, was held recently. Zhu Zongliang believes that the current urban rail transit should focus more on built-up areas, consider exploring the renewal value of surrounding cities, and conduct comprehensive development of commercial land around stations based on the TOD (public transportation-oriented development model) concept.
