According to the announcement, KDDI will acquire 53.4% ​​of the shares in Eliza, a startup company from the University of Tokyo, and will make it a subsidiary by April 1st.



The acquisition price is said to be in the billions of yen.



Eliza developed a generation AI based on the large-scale language model "Llama2" published by Meta in the United States with support from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. He announced that he had completed generative AI.



By combining this with its own communications network, KDDI will be entering a new business for companies and local governments.
