Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. has resumed production of some vehicle models from the 18th at its Shiga factory in Ryuo-cho, Shiga Prefecture, which had ceased operations due to the issue of fraudulent acquisition of national certification.

It has been about three months since production resumed at this factory.

Daihatsu Motors had been suspending operations at four of its domestic automobile factories since late December last year due to issues with fraudulent acquisition of national certification, but the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism ordered them to suspend shipments after confirming compliance with standards. In response to the lifting of the restrictions, production of some vehicle models resumed last month at the Kyoto Plant and the Oita Plant of Daihatsu Kyushu, a subsidiary.

Following this, Daihatsu on the 18th at its Shiga factory in Ryuo-cho, Shiga Prefecture, produced three gasoline-powered vehicles: the Rocky gasoline vehicle, the Toyota Motor Corporation brand Rise gasoline vehicle, and the Subaru brand Rex. We have resumed production of car models.



It has been three months since production resumed at this factory.



Employees came to work at the factory one after another starting around 7:30 a.m. on the 18th, and said things like, ``I felt anxious while the factory was shut down,'' and ``I want to work hard on making each car one by one to regain the trust we've lost.'' ” and so on.



The company is also preparing to resume production of its mainstay light passenger car, the Tanto, which accounted for nearly 70% of Daihatsu's domestic production in the past fiscal year. This means that the person is standing.
