According to the "Customs Release" WeChat public account, on the occasion of the "March 15" International Consumer Rights Day, the General Administration of Customs has inspected some imported consumer goods in 2023 that are not up to standard in terms of quality and safety. Cases are reported.

  In 2023, national customs detected 357 batches of unqualified quality and safety products during the inspection of imported light industry, textile, food contact products and other consumer goods, with an overall failure rate of 7.18%.

Among them, 125 batches of imported light industrial products were found to be unqualified, with a failure rate of 6.21%, including cases where the movable element chromium in toys exceeded the standard and the formaldehyde release amount of furniture exceeded the limit; 131 batches of imported textile products were found to be unqualified, with a failure rate of 6.21%. 6.22%, including excessive formaldehyde content in children's clothing, detection of decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes in adult clothing, etc.; 101 batches of imported food contact products were found to be unqualified, with a failure rate of 11.90%, including excessive lead indicators in porcelain tableware and stainless steel ice filters. The nickel index of the equipment exceeds the standard.

  For the imported consumer goods that failed to meet quality and safety standards in the above-mentioned typical cases, the customs returned or destroyed them in accordance with the "Import and Export Commodity Inspection Law of the People's Republic of China" and its implementation regulations and other relevant laws and regulations.
