Interfax reports this with reference to the corresponding report of the Deutsche Borse Group (Clearstream is part of this group) for 2023.
The release states that a number of courts in Russia have filed lawsuits against Clearstream for the turnover or return of frozen assets.
“The total amount of claims brought against Clearstream Banking SA in these proceedings is approximately €74 million,” the report says.
It is clarified that about 20 claims have been sent to the depositary.
In October 2023, the state development corporation VEB.RF filed a lawsuit against the large European depositary Euroclear Bank, which froze many securities of Russian investors.
