YouTuber explains the background to the Dreamliner nosedive

The dramatic descent of a Latam Airlines Boeing Dreamliner on a flight from Sydney to Auckland, New Zealand may have been caused by a glitch in the cockpit.

According to the trade magazine "Air Current", investigators are targeting a switch on the pilot's seat that a flight attendant may have accidentally activated when she brought the pilot a meal into the cockpit.

However, the possibility of an electrical short circuit is also being examined, it said, citing a second insider.

The case has also brought a number of YouTubers to the scene who are investigating how the unfortunate combination of events could come about.

The version of a very successful YouTuber who goes by the name blancolirio and has more than 450,000 followers is particularly plausible.

Behind it is Juan Browne, an experienced pilot who has been involved in aviation since his teenage days.

He later flew for the Air Force and was also an instructor there.

Browne gained experience in civilian cockpits at an American airline.

According to Air Current, Boeing wants to inform the operators of the 787 about the incident.

This could indicate that it is a fleet-wide problem.

Boeing declined to comment on the report when asked by the Reuters news agency and instead referred to the investigative authorities.
