China News Service, Guangzhou, March 15 (Reporter Guo Jun) "Facing the ever-changing market situation, actively innovating products and improving efficiency with new quality productivity has become the consensus of many Chinese toy companies." Chen Huangman, President of the Guangdong Toy Association He said in an interview with reporters in Guangzhou recently.

Although global toy sales have been relatively weak since last year due to the combined effects of adverse factors such as the world economic downturn, Chen Huangman is still optimistic about the development prospects of China's toy industry.

According to reports, Chinese toys account for about 70% of the world market, and Guangdong is China's largest toy production and export base.

Last year, China's toy export value was only 285.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 7.4%.

Chen Huangman said that China's toy production technology currently leads the world. In industrial clusters in Dongguan and Chenghai, Shantou, many companies have implemented digital and intelligent production management. For example, for common building blocks, companies have been able to strictly control the error to 0.02 mm. Below, multinational companies usually prefer to entrust Chinese companies to produce products with high technical requirements, such as electronics and voice-enabled smart toys.

Therefore, although the toy industry in Southeast Asia, Mexico and other places continues to develop, more than 80% of the products sold in the high-end toy markets in European and American countries are still made in China.

According to reports, China's toy industry has emerged a number of high-tech enterprises and specialized new enterprises with independent intellectual property rights, such as Guangzhou Chaosheng Animation and Shantou Godes, and they actively promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Rushifeng Culture is at the forefront of smart toy research and development, creating ChatGPT smart toys; Xinghui Entertainment masters VR remote control, voice remote control and other technologies, adding control methods to dynamic toy series.

A survey by the Guangdong Provincial Toy Association found that the current Chinese toy industry and market are showing trends such as the popularization of toy trends, IP-based toy products, diversification of sales channels, integration of development of different industries, and increased awareness of intellectual property protection.

Data show that last year, about 28% of the products in the European and American toy markets were consumed by adults, while China’s trendy toy consumer market, dominated by young people, has taken shape.

It is estimated that the market size is 57 billion yuan.

There are signs that China's toy industry will usher in a recovery.

As the first exhibition of the new year for the Chinese toy industry and one of the largest toy exhibitions in China, the Shenzhen Toys Fair will be held in April this year.

At present, the exhibition has confirmed more than 4,900 booths and more than 1,400 exhibitors. It is expected to increase by more than 10%, setting a new record high.

At present, visitors from more than 20 countries and regions have signed up to watch the exhibition, and the number of applicants has increased by 50% year-on-year.

In Chen Huangman's view, China's toy industry has the advantages of a complete industrial chain and industrial clusters. By increasing digitalization and intelligence, it will help the industry shift to high-quality development.
