China News Service, Shanghai, March 13 (Pufan Liangyue) The methanol fuel bunkering ship "Haigang Zhiyuan" successfully completed the methanol fuel supply test at the Shengang Petroleum Terminal of Yangshan Port on the 13th. This is also the first time that Yangshan Port has completed this test. Supply testing.

As the first methanol fuel bunkering ship put into operation in China, the "Haigang Zhiyuan" ship successfully implemented a "ship-to-ship" methanol fuel bunkering dry test operation at Yangshan Port on February 8 this year.

This berthing replenishment test further verified the compatibility of equipment on both sides of the ship and the shore and eliminated potential safety hazards during the fuel replenishment operation.

According to Yangshan Port Maritime Safety Bureau staff, methanol is a toxic organic compound with a low flash point that can cause damage to the human body's nervous system, respiratory system, digestive system, etc. During loading and unloading operations, close attention must be paid to pipe connections The sealing condition prevents gas leakage from causing human poisoning and fire and explosion.

The "Haigang Zhiyuan" ship successfully berthed and completed the fuel replenishment test, indicating that Yangshan Port has the methanol fuel replenishment capability, and methanol fuel replenishment can be achieved in the port, further reducing the shipping costs of fuel refueling companies.

It is reported that in order to ensure the smooth progress of this methanol fuel supply test, the Yangshan Port Maritime Safety Administration paid close attention to the navigation dynamics of the "Haigang Zhiyuan" ship and the meteorological conditions in the jurisdiction, coordinated the terminal to reasonably arrange the berthing plan, and guided the ship and shore according to the characteristics of the tanker loading and unloading operations. Both parties formulated a list of risk prevention and control measures to ensure that risk control measures are implemented during the test.

During the test, the Yangshan Port Maritime Safety Administration, together with shipping companies and terminal units, jointly checked whether the equipment of the ship and the shore were matched, whether the ship's cargo loading and unloading system, cargo monitoring and alarm devices and inert gas systems were normal, and urged both the ship and the shore to conscientiously operate in accordance with the corresponding specifications. Ensure safety and anti-contamination measures are in place during testing.

With the promotion and gradual commercialization of green methanol fuel technology routes, the number of orders for methanol fuel ships worldwide has exceeded 200, and the demand for green methanol fuel is also increasing. In order to meet the demand for methanol fuel supply, Yangshan Port Shenzhen Port The oil terminal has started the transformation of methanol storage tanks in the second half of 2023. There are currently 280,000 cubic meters of storage tanks with methanol storage qualifications, which can meet the current methanol fuel supply needs of Shanghai Port.

The Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration recently officially issued the "Safety Management Measures for Waterborne Methanol Fuel Fueling Operations", which fills the gap in the domestic management system for waterborne methanol fuel bunkering operations and lays a solid foundation for the construction of Shanghai Port into a clean fuel bunkering center for international navigation ships. System guarantee basis.
