State Administration for Market Regulation: my country has implemented a total of over 100 million vehicle recalls in the past 20 years

　　China News Service, Beijing, March 13 (China News reporter Xie Yiguan) Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued the "Notice on the National Recall of Automobiles and Consumer Products in 2023" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice"), announcing the recall status of automobiles and consumer products in my country. .

　　The "Notice" shows that in 2023, my country implemented a total of 214 car recalls, involving 6.728 million vehicles, an increase of 4.9% and 49.9% respectively over the previous year; my country implemented a total of 771 consumer product recalls, involving 10.420 million products, an increase of 4.9% and 49.9% respectively over the previous year. Annual growth was 11.7% and 4.6%.

　　According to the "Notice", in terms of car recalls, in 2023, my country implemented a total of 72 new energy vehicle recalls, involving 1.603 million vehicles, accounting for 23.8% of the total number of recalls throughout the year.

The number of new energy vehicle recalls increased by 32.3% year-on-year, reaching a record high.

Six remote upgrade (OTA) recalls were implemented, involving 1.173 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 32.2%. OTA has gradually become an important way to implement automobile recalls.

Affected by the defect investigation of the State Administration for Market Regulation, there were 27 recalls, involving 3.996 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 127.2%, accounting for 59.4% of the total number of recalls throughout the year.

　　In terms of consumer product recalls, in 2023, the number of recalls affected by investigations by market regulatory authorities was 699, involving 6.128 million products, accounting for 90.7% and 58.8% of the total number of recalls and the total number of recalls respectively. Defect investigations are still driving consumer product companies to implement recalls main way.

As of the end of 2023, my country has implemented a total of 4,885 consumer product recalls, involving 101 million products.

The "Notice" shows that as of the end of 2023, my country has implemented a total of 2,842 vehicle recalls, involving 103 million vehicles; it has implemented 4,885 consumer product recalls, involving 101 million products.

　　"The timely recall of these defective products has effectively reduced the occurrence of injury accidents caused by defective products, and effectively prevented more consumers from suffering physical and mental injuries and property losses due to product defects." said the State Administration for Market Regulation.
