Gaza, the population, exhausted, “at the mercy of crooks who monopolize food aid”

The Open Arms

ship

, which left Cyprus, should take “

 several days

” before arriving off the enclave, said a spokesperson for the NGO;

the boat carries around 200 tonnes of food, rice, flour and canned goods for the population.

At the same time, several countries are continuing to airdrop food packages into Gaza.

But these operations, with their complex logistics, “

cannot replace the land route

 ,” insists the UN.

Lying in her mother's arms, little Line is exhausted.

Food is scarce.

The child has not eaten for 24 hours.

“

And it wasn’t even a real meal

,” confides Jamila, his mother: “

It was a potato.

Only one.

My neighbor gave it to us.

It’s really just a matter of saying that we ate.

Sometimes my sister, or other neighbors, help us.

They give us water and bread.

It's better than nothing.

The little one is six years old.

His father, Mahmoud, is revolted by this situation.

He blames the Israelis, but not only: “

The little girl is suffering from malnutrition.

And even the water we have is not drinkable.

It is brackish water.

How to treat it?

I run from one hospital to another, to no avail.

No one can help us.

She could die at any moment.

We are at the mercy of crooks who monopolize free food aid and resell it to the population.

We are both oppressed by these crooks and by the Israelis who are waging war against us
