  This maintenance of the Dateng Gorge Ship Lock is the first maintenance since the lock operated at a high water level of 61 meters.

Since the outage maintenance was launched on February 19 this year, the Dadengxia Ship Lock has comprehensively inspected the operating conditions of the hydraulic system, hoist control system, herringbone door and water gate metal structure, lock hydraulic structures and other equipment and facilities at high water levels. The company has carried out technical upgrades and renovations on some equipment and facilities to improve quality and safety, ensure efficient and stable operation of the lock, and carry out channel dredging on the approach channel under the lock to ensure that the water depth of the channel is sufficient for safe navigation of ships.

  The Dadeng Gorge Ship Lock is located at the "throat" of the golden waterway of the Xijiang River. It is the only way for ships operating in Liuzhou, Laibin and other places in the upper reaches to reach the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is an important hub of the golden waterway of the Pearl River and the gateway for Guangxi's eastward integration into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. After the restoration of navigation, the Datengxia Ship Lock has opened up water production, distribution, circulation, consumption and other links in the Xijiang River Basin in Guangxi, accelerated the transportation of energy materials from Guangxi to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and continued to smooth the east-west economy between Guangxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.   According to statistics, a total of 369.64 million ships will pass through the Dateng Gorge Ship Lock in 2023, with a core load of 96.27 million tons and a cargo volume of 40.82 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 46%, 54%, and 81% respectively, setting a record high. , is of great significance to the opening and development of the Pearl River-Xijiang Economic Belt, serving the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the construction of the New Land-Sea Corridor in the West.
