CCTV News (News Broadcast): Reporters learned from the General Administration of Customs today (March 7) that in the first two months of this year, the scale of my country's import and export of goods trade hit a record high for the same period in history, and foreign trade achieved a good start.

  Data released by the General Administration of Customs show that in the first two months of this year, my country’s total import and export value of goods trade was 6.61 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%.

Among them, exports were 3.75 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.3%; imports were 2.86 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.7%.

  In the first two months of this year, my country's exports grew rapidly and its competitive advantages were consolidated.

Exports of competitive products such as automobiles, home appliances, and ships increased by 15.8%, 24.3%, and 180.6% respectively.

  In terms of imports, imports of bulk commodities such as energy and metal ores increased by 13.8% and 7.2% respectively, ensuring domestic production needs.

Imports of wearable consumer goods such as textiles, clothing, and jewelry, as well as edible consumer goods such as dried and fresh fruits, and beef, have increased significantly, enriching residents' consumption choices.

  In terms of trading partners, my country's imports and exports to countries co-building the "Belt and Road" were 3.13 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9%, accounting for 47.3% of my country's total imports and exports.

Among them, imports and exports to ASEAN were 993.24 billion yuan, an increase of 8.1%; imports and exports to the five Central Asian countries were 95.09 billion yuan, an increase of 26%.

Imports and exports to other RCEP member countries were 1.94 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.5%.
