On the 8th, a freelance deliveryman in Nagasaki Prefecture who handles products from the online shopping giant Amazon Japan said that it was unfair for the subcontractor to which he was entrusted with delivery to unilaterally terminate his contract. I went on strike.

According to the labor union supporting delivery workers, this is the first strike in the country by freelance delivery workers handling Amazon products.

Approximately 20 freelance delivery workers in Nagasaki Prefecture who are in charge of Amazon Japan products went on strike.

According to a labor union made up of freelance delivery workers, in December of last year, the primary subcontractor company contracted for Amazon's deliveries announced that the contract would be delivered on the 8th of next month to the secondary subcontractor company contracted by the delivery workers. They have given notice that they are terminating the contract.

In response to this, the delivery workers requested collective bargaining so that they could continue delivering Amazon products, but the first subcontractor company announced on the 7th that it would not respond to collective bargaining and that the contract would not be transferred after the contract ended. The company has responded in writing that it is not in a position to respond to such questions, so it has decided to go on strike.

A delivery worker who responded to the interview said, ``I have doubts that there was no explanation for the cancellation of the contract.''

According to the Tokyo Union, a labor union that supports delivery workers, this is the first strike in the country by freelance delivery workers who handle Amazon products.

The primary subcontractor commented, ``We will refrain from commenting on the details of this matter or answering individual questions.Currently, we do not anticipate any impact on today's deliveries to customers.''

``Amazon Japan'' commented, ``There are no delays in delivery, and we are delivering to our customers as scheduled.''
