Due to the large-scale information leak of LINE users, operating company LINE Yahoo has announced that three of its representative directors, including Chairman Kentaro Kawabe and President Tsuyoshi Idezawa, will voluntarily return part of their compensation.

LINE Yahoo is believed to have leaked 519,000 items of information, including information on LINE users and business partners, and on the 5th, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications issued an order to prevent a recurrence based on the Telecommunications Business Act, which stipulates the protection of confidential communications. I received the administrative guidance I requested.

Regarding this issue, the company announced on the 6th that the three representative directors would voluntarily return a portion of their compensation as ``responsible for causing the situation.''

Chairman Kentaro Kawabe will voluntarily return 30% of his monthly basic salary for one month, and President Tsuyoshi Idezawa and CPO Shin Junho will each voluntarily return 30% of their monthly basic salary for three months.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' administrative guidance requires companies to report on the implementation status of measures to prevent recurrence by the 1st of next month, and to regularly report on their efforts once a quarter for at least one year.

LINE Yahoo commented, ``We take this administrative guidance seriously and will work to restore everyone's trust.''

In addition, in this administrative guidance, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has issued an unusual request for a review of the management structure, saying that the capital relationship with Naver, a South Korean IT company that has a 50% stake in LINE Yahoo's parent company, is behind the problem. The focus is now on the company's future response.
