(hereinafter referred to as China Railway Group) on the 6th that during the Spring Festival travel season, the country’s railways carried a total of 484 million passengers, with an average of 12.089 million passengers per day, a year-on-year increase of 39% and an increase of 18.8% compared with the same period in 2019. ; The national railway has shipped a total of 395 million tons of cargo and maintained a high level of operation.

  According to the relevant person in charge of the Transportation Department of the China Railway Group, during the Spring Festival this year, the railway department made full use of new lines and new station resources, coordinated high-speed railways and normal-speed railways, and increased transport capacity. The average daily number of passenger trains on the national railways increased compared with the same period in 2019. 18.5%, and the passenger transport capacity reached a record high for Spring Festival travel.

Based on 12,306 passenger ticket pre-sale and waiting list data, transportation capacity has been flexibly increased by adding temporary passenger trains and other methods. The national railways can operate a maximum of 2,256 additional passenger trains in a single day to meet passenger travel needs to the maximum extent.

  The above-mentioned person in charge said that during the Spring Festival travel period, the railway department stepped up efforts to ensure smooth traffic, and the transportation of key materials was effectively guaranteed.

The average daily loading of national railways is 163,100 vehicles, and the average number of days of coal consumption at the 371 direct railway power plants across the country has remained stable at more than 20 days, providing reliable support for the smooth operation of the national economy and the warm winter for the people.

  According to reports, during the Spring Festival travel season, China-Europe freight trains operated a total of 2,001 trains and sent 215,000 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 11% and 12% respectively. The Western Land-Sea Corridor trains sent 77,000 TEUs of cargo, a year-on-year increase of 4%. The China-Laos Railway Cross-border cargo reached 598,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 44%, effectively ensuring the stability and smoothness of the international industrial and supply chains.
