After Meta or Samsung, it is now Google which is investing massively in artificial intelligence in France, with the opening of a brand new hub which will bring together more than 300 engineers and researchers in the very center of the capital. An almost obvious choice as an ecosystem around artificial intelligence is being formed. 

This is a new chapter in the history of Google in France. Proof that the event is major, the big boss, Sundar Pichai, made the trip. “Today, Paris is a global center of innovation. It is a magnet for tech talents. The government's pro-innovation policy greatly helps France to have a leading role in AI,” said he declared.

More and more AI-related research centers in the capital

In Paris, research centers linked to artificial intelligence (AI) are multiplying: Meta, Samsung, IBM without forgetting the hundred French start-ups including Mistral AI, founded by French people who left for Silicon Valley but returned to Paris where the direct link with research makes the difference, according to Isabelle Ryl, director of the Prairie Institute, dedicated to artificial intelligence at PSL University. 

“You have a snowball effect from the moment companies set up, it becomes attractive for students, researchers, for companies. You have in the Ile-de-France region a very high concentration of large universities , large schools, large research laboratories, which makes the place visible from abroad", she says at the microphone of Europe 1.

Google's ambition in Paris: to train 100,000 professionals in artificial intelligence tools by the end of 2025.
