Lebanon: five Hezbollah fighters, including Ali al-Debs, killed in 24 hours

At least five Hezbollah fighters and eleven civilians were killed in 24 hours in southern Lebanon in Israeli bombings. Hundreds of Shiite party fighters have been killed or injured since clashes began on the Lebanese-Israeli border on October 8.

Hezbollah

announced the firing of dozens of rockets against Israeli positions in the Galilee in response to the deadly strike carried out on Wednesday in Nabatieh

Hassan Nasrallah's party has already lost nearly 190 fighters, including one of the main leaders of his elite al-Radwan force and two commanders. At least 300 other party members were injured, including dozens seriously, in Israeli air raids and artillery fire.

The high number of victims in 24 hours testifies to the intensity of the fighting on the Lebanese-Israeli front.

The United Nations has sounded the alarm against what it called a “ 

dangerous escalation

 .”

The spokesperson for UN peacekeepers deployed in southern Lebanon, Andrea Tenenti, warned this Thursday of a “ 

worrying transformation

 ” in the level of hostilities along the border.
