The National Platform for the Defense of Transport, which brings together thousands of self-employed transporters and SMEs, has agreed this Saturday to an indefinite national strike in support of the mobilizations that farmers and members of the 6F Platform have been maintaining for a week in protest against the situation of the sector.

In a rally around the Metropolitan stadium in Madrid - which began with about 200 people and to which more farmers and transporters with

yellow vests

have joined - this decision advanced this past week was ratified and waiting for the Government to listen to their demands.

The transport platform, which in March 2022 promoted a 20-day strike that put the distribution chain in check, takes this step without the support of the National Committee for the Transport of Goods by Road (CNTC), the interlocutor body of the sector with the Government, in which it is not represented.

The fifth day of agrarian protests passed this Saturday without incident, with some road closures in different parts of Spain. The Government Delegation in Madrid has reported that until this afternoon there have been no traffic cuts or notable incidents on the roads of the Community as a result of agricultural mobilizations.
