Transport Strike Renfe Madrid today February 9: schedules, affected trains and minimum services
This Friday, Renfe and Adif
workers
support a
23-hour strike
that has forced the public railway operator to cancel the circulation of
310 trains
, 89 high-speed and long-distance trains and 221 medium-distance trains.
The strike has been called by
CCOO
in both
Renfe
and
Adif
, where the Railway Circulation Union (SCF) has also joined the protest, to demand the unblocking of two agreements already agreed with the companies and their rapid implementation.
In the case of Adif, it is
an agreement to implement a 35-hour work week
that was already negotiated between the General Business Committee and the company and, in that of Renfe, one on income categories.
The agreement on the 35-hour working day in Adif has been blocked by the
Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
On the other hand, the agreement reached in Renfe on the income categories has a positive report from the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, but the Public Service has not yet issued its report.
For this reason, CCOO was still waiting this Thursday for the Public Function to respond to its request, which finally did not happen and, therefore, the strike at Renfe continues.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has determined
essential services
to ensure the mobility of travelers and goods during the 75% strike day on Cercanías at rush hour (from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) and 50%, the rest of the day.
As for Media Distancia, the ministry's resolution establishes that 65% of the 641 trains scheduled for tomorrow will circulate in minimum services, that is, 420, meaning 221 are cancelled.
Regarding
high-speed and long-distance trains,
241 will circulate, 73% of the total of 330 scheduled, leaving 89 cancelled.
For freight trains, the ministry has set minimum services of 25%.
For Rodalies de Catalunya, the Department of Business and Labor of the Generalitat of Catalonia has set essential services at 66% during peak hours (06:00 to 09:30 and 17:00 to 20:30) and 33% during the rest of the day.
For AVE/Long Distance and Medium Distance travelers whose train is not included in the essential services, Renfe will offer, whenever possible, to travel on another train at the time closest to the one purchased.
If you do not wish to travel, Renfe allows you to cancel or change your ticket to another date at no cost.
Cancellation or change operations can be carried out in all Renfe sales channels.
