China News Service, Shanghai, February 8 (Pufan) A reporter learned from the Shanghai Railway Station that the Shanghai Railway Station sent 656,000 passengers on the 7th, setting a record high in the number of passengers sent in a single day.

  On the 7th, Shanghai Hongqiao Station sent 385,000 passengers in a single day, also setting a record high. The station is expected to have a single-day passenger volume of 398,000 on the 8th, which is expected to reach a new high.

  February 8 is the fourteenth day of Spring Festival travel. The Shanghai Railway Station is expected to send 650,000 passengers (191,000 passengers to Shanghai Station, 61,000 passengers to Shanghai South Station, and 398,000 passengers to Shanghai Hongqiao Station), an increase of 29.5% compared with the same period in 2019. Passenger flow exceeded 600,000 for three consecutive days.

  It is understood that the Shanghai Railway Station opened an additional 159 passenger trains in the northwest, Sichuan and Chongqing, Hubei, Central Plains, Jiangxi, Fujian, Anhui and other directions that day, and 71 additional night passenger trains from 0:00 to 5:00 on February 9. In addition, the station will dynamically add passenger trains to Wuhan based on actual conditions.

  As for the Yangtze River Delta Railway, it is expected to carry more than 2.54 million passengers on the 8th. Since the launch of the Spring Festival Transport on January 26, the Yangtze River Delta Railway has carried more than 10.2 million through passengers, an increase of nearly 16% compared with the same period in 2019; more than 23.3 million passengers within the pipeline, an increase of nearly 31% year-on-year; and more than 2.4 million daily passengers. The number of passengers is up to 12 days (including the number of people planned to be sent on the day).

  In terms of passenger flow direction, direct passenger flow accounts for more than 30%, mainly from Yunnan-Guizhou, Sichuan and Chongqing, Northeast, Northwest, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Henan and other regions; internal passenger flow accounts for nearly 70%, mainly concentrated in Zhejiang, Shanghai, Hefu, Anqing, Wuhu, North Jiangsu and other directions. Judging from the passenger flow situation at stations, the passenger flow at railway stations in Shanghai, Nanjing, Hefei, Hangzhou, Xuzhou, Ningbo, Suzhou, Kunshan, Wuhu, Changzhou and other places has increased significantly.
