“Oil and gas revenues amounted to 675 billion rubles, significantly exceeding the figures for the same period of the previous year (by 58.7% year-on-year), mainly due to rising prices for Russian oil,” the department’s website says.

It is noted that the receipt of oil and gas revenues in January was at a level slightly below the base level, which is explained by the deviation of monthly indicators of physical volumes from the predicted values.

“In accordance with the parameters of the socio-economic development forecast, in the coming months, oil and gas revenues are expected to steadily exceed their base amount,” the report notes.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Finance stated that the federal budget deficit in January tentatively amounted to 308 billion rubles.
