In an effort to create new tourism content, a demonstration experiment was conducted using a drone to transport a full course French meal to an observation deck on Mt. Usu in Hokkaido.

This demonstration experiment was planned by Hokkaido to promote the wide use of drones and create new tourism content.

The drone used was for transporting seedlings, which are not often used in the winter.

First, wine and pre-prepared food are placed in delivery boxes at the Usu Mountain Ropeway's Summit Station, and then secured to the drone with ropes.

Next, we flew a drone and took about 5 minutes to get to the observatory, which was about 250 meters away.

The drone will make five round trips to deliver the appetizer salad, main dish using duck meat, and dessert.

While tasting the food on the table, the staff made sure that the food did not fall apart during the flight and that it could be eaten while still being warm.

Atsushi Kurosawa, Chief Director of the Hokkaido Digital Transformation Promotion Division, said, ``This experiment has great potential as an extraordinary experience.Hokkaido is large, but there aren't that many people, making it easy to fly drones, so the applications will continue to expand. I feel like I'm going," he said.

In the future, Hokkaido will also experiment with using agricultural drones to spread snow melting agents, and will explore further ways to utilize drones.
