On January 17, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publicly solicited opinions on the "Guidelines for the Construction of a National Comprehensive Standardization System for the Artificial Intelligence Industry" (Draft for Comment). The draft for comments proposes that by 2026, the proportion of common key technologies and application development plan projects that form standard results will reach more than 60%, and the level of linkage between standards and industrial technological innovation will continue to increase. More than 50 new national standards and industry standards have been formulated to accelerate the formation of a standard system that promotes the high-quality development of the artificial intelligence industry.

In recent years, with the emergence of artificial intelligence large-model technology, all walks of life in China have entered the market, and the digital office industry is one of them. With the artificial intelligence industry ushering in a new round of development boom, which artificial intelligence products have been implemented? What development opportunities will it bring to the industry?

Artificial intelligence reshapes office model

Thanks to the performance of generative artificial intelligence (AIGC) in text creation and other aspects, artificial intelligence is reshaping the office model, helping users improve innovation and production efficiency, and the scale of the collaborative office market is gradually expanding.

The "China AI Large Model Innovation and Patent Technology Analysis Report" released in November 2023 shows that the software industry, manufacturing and service industries are the industries with the most patent layouts of China's large model innovation entities, with the number of patent layouts reaching 36,000 each. , 34,000 pieces, 28,000 pieces. Baidu, Tencent, Alibaba and other companies have further promoted the development of patent industrialization, and have a large number of patents in the software industry, manufacturing and other industries.

In the field of software, large artificial intelligence models are gradually used in natural language processing, computer vision, speech recognition and other fields, and the intelligence level of related software products has been improved.

Take Kingsoft Office, a long-established domestic office software company, as an example. In April 2023, WPS AI was unveiled to the public and has been applied to common office components such as text, tables, and presentations. In addition to functions such as text generation, WPS AI can generate complex function formulas through natural conversational human-computer interaction, further reducing The operating threshold of office software. In November 2023, WPS AI will be released in public beta and officially open to users.

Similar to WPS AI, in collaborative office scenarios, tools such as Tencent Document Intelligent Assistant and iFlytek Spark Cognitive Model connect the office needs of multiple scenarios and are bringing a more imaginative experience to the office environment. Industry analysts pointed out that today, collaborative office software is no longer limited to functions such as remote communication, online meetings, and communication traces that bridge the real and digital spaces. With the deep embedding of artificial intelligence, algorithms can analyze the digital assets accumulated in office scenes. Carry out intelligent identification and recommendation to improve collaboration efficiency.

Promote hardware product change and innovation

The development of large artificial intelligence models has promoted innovation and change in hardware products and has become a new business opportunity. In addition to the widespread implementation of hardware products in fields such as smart manufacturing, smart homes, and driverless driving, a series of new smart products have also begun to enter consumers' lives, from "concept" to "application."

Three months ago, a U.S. technology company released a new artificial intelligence hardware product. This screen-less smart device can be worn on clothes through magnetic attraction, and relies on voice and gestures to complete interactions and realize functions such as making calls, taking photos, and translating.

At this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the United States, Lenovo Group unveiled more than 40 new devices and solutions based on artificial intelligence, including a number of personal computers equipped with generative artificial intelligence software. Users only need to enter some text content when using it, and the corresponding visual images can be quickly generated. Zhang Hua, vice president of Lenovo Group and general manager of China's consumer business group, said that artificial intelligence computers will realize multi-modal natural language interaction and improve the machine's ability to understand user intentions. Such innovations can provide users with many advantages in work, study, life, etc. Bring a different experience to the scene.

Pay attention to technical risks

According to Zhang Qingyuan, CEO of Kingsoft Office, in the past year, the development of domestic AI large models has been very mature, and a number of representative products have been launched. This year, more companies will apply large AI models to actual work scenarios. . At the same time, in specific applications, we still need to pay attention to issues such as artificial intelligence infrastructure, scenario application, and security.

The rapid development of generative artificial intelligence has brought challenges to information content governance, and has also made more people pay attention to possible technical risks in aspects such as intelligent ethics, intellectual property protection, privacy and personal data protection.

Starting from August 15, 2023, the "Interim Measures for the Management of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services" (referred to as the "Interim Measures") promulgated by the Cyberspace Administration of China in conjunction with multiple ministries and commissions will be officially implemented. It is clearly stated that "encourage the innovative application of generative artificial intelligence technology in various industries and fields, generate positive, healthy, and good-quality content, explore and optimize application scenarios, and build an application ecosystem." The "Interim Measures" also pointed out, " If it involves intellectual property rights, it shall not infringe the intellectual property rights enjoyed by others according to law; if it involves personal information, it shall obtain the individual's consent or other circumstances that comply with laws and administrative regulations."

Gu Bingzhong, vice chairman of the China Computer Users Association, believes that during the training process of large models, attention must be paid to rights protection, and obvious copyright infringements must be stopped in a timely manner. For example, a weather prediction model trained using data from the Meteorological Bureau should be authorized by the rights holder, and the use of data should be regulated from the source.

"In the initial stage of generative artificial intelligence, more tolerance, time and practice can be left for copyright to be verified. It is necessary to track in a timely manner and further study the problems that may arise, but we cannot rush to conclusions. As technology and With the progress of the times, many traditional concepts will change, and copyright may also be the same. We must look at the copyright issues brought about by new technologies from a development perspective," Gu Bingzhong said. (People's Daily Overseas Edition)
