Explosions on Russian gas export pipelines to Europe “Nord Stream” and “Nord Stream 2” occurred on September 26, 2022. Based on the incident, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office initiated a case on an act of international terrorism. Later, the Swedish prosecutor's office admitted that this was a case of sabotage.

The day before, the Swedish publication Expressen reported that the prosecutor investigating this incident, Mats Ljungqvist, would soon make a decision. Speaking on this topic with journalists, Peskov noted that Moscow had not been provided with any data on the investigation, but the Kremlin was waiting with interest for “any verdicts and decisions.”

“And, of course, this is sabotage against critical international infrastructure, which cannot be left without identifying those who were behind it, who were the performers and the customers,” said the press secretary of the Russian president.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced Sweden’s attempts to avoid fines for air emissions due to sabotage on the Nord Stream pipeline.
