The Russian Prime Minister said this during a meeting of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council.

As a guideline for the work of the EAEU, Mishustin named the declaration signed in December 2023, called the “Eurasian Economic Path”.

He recalled that the declaration envisages the expansion of areas of cooperation between the countries of the union in various fields.

“And also the formation of a common financial market and an increase in the share of national currencies in mutual payments, which is now about 90%,” TASS quotes Mishustin.

On December 21, 2023, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Andrei Belousov said that the share of the country’s payments in rubles and friendly currencies in 2023 increased to 65%.

The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that increasing payments in national currencies will become a priority of Russia's chairmanship in BRICS.
