  • France Escalation of criticism against Spain: Segolene Royal calls tomatoes "inedible"

The general secretary of the Popular Party,

Cuca Gamarra,

assured this Friday in the framework of the New Communication Forum that the former French minister

Ségolène Royal

"has not eaten a Spanish tomato in her life."

This was stated by Cuca Gamarra to the media before the informative meeting organized in Madrid by Nueva Economía Fórum on the occasion of Servimedia's 35th anniversary began.

Gamarra has responded to the statements made this week by the former French socialist minister Ségolène Royal, who stated in an interview that

"the Spanish tomato is inedible"

and asserted that Spanish BIO agricultural products "are false."

"I invite you to try them, that lady has never eaten a Spanish tomato in her life because there is something very clear, they are spectacular," stressed the PP leader.

After describing

her statements as "unacceptable"

, Gamarra urged the former minister to "fix the French problems and not blame Spanish farmers. Spanish farmers are the best farmers in Europe," he added.
