In January, the cost of gasoline of the AI-92 and AI-95 brands increased by almost 30%. Against this background, SPIMEX changed the criteria for identifying unfair trading practices, including to combat trading robots.

“The application of the criteria made it possible to exclude the speculative increase in wholesale prices at exchange trading, which was observed in January 2024. FAS Russia and SPIMEX will assess the behavior of participants for market manipulation during this period,” FAS noted.

According to the service, since January 31, the price of AI-92 gasoline has decreased by almost 10%, and AI-95 gasoline - by 2% since February 1.

Previously, the FAS initiated 28 antimonopoly cases in the fuel market in Russia.
