China's first domestic large-scale cruise ship H1508 ship officially ushered in docking today!

On June 6th, the domestic large-scale cruise ship "Aida Modu", which is equipped with the "Dunhuang Flying Sky Ribbon", was successfully undocked at Dock 6 of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd., fully opening the cycle of mooring test, sea trial and named delivery of the terminal.

The undocking of the first large cruise ship also means that it is only one step away from the historic moment of picking the "last crown jewel" of the shipbuilding industry, filling the gap of domestic large cruise ships, and achieving zero breakthrough in the field of large-scale cruise ship construction.

At present, large cruise ships are the only high-tech and high-value-added ship types in China that have not yet been conquered, and the number of parts and components on the whole ship has reached 2500 million, which is equivalent to 919 times that of the 5 large aircraft and 13 times that of the "Fuxing" high-speed railway; The total cable arrangement length of the whole ship reaches 4200,<> kilometers, which is equivalent to the distance from Shanghai to Lhasa. Large cruise ships are veritable giant system engineering, which can directly reflect a country's equipment construction capabilities and comprehensive scientific and technological level. Fully promoting the design and construction of large-scale cruise ships is a landmark project for the transformation and upgrading of China's shipbuilding industry and enhancing the global influence of Chinese manufacturing.

Overall progress exceeded 90%, with two sea trials in July and August

As a giant system project, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding's investment in large cruise ships can be described as a record.

Zhou Qi, deputy general manager of China Shipbuilding Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and chief builder of large-scale cruise projects, recently told The Paper that in the test stages before the first cruise ship was undocked, there were nearly 300 commissioning workers on the cruise ship every day. At present, nearly 1000,<> people from various interested parties will participate in the first sea trial, more than any previous project.

According to the surging news reporter, at present, the overall progress of "Aida Modu" is 94.62%, and the construction progress is 92.159%. According to the plan, two sea trials will be carried out in July and August to fully verify the functions related to cruise ship safety, such as power and propulsion system, fire fighting, fire alarm, life-saving, communication and navigation, vibration and noise, and safe return to port, complete the acceptance and submission of cabin and public area installation works, and hold a naming and delivery ceremony during the sixth China International Import Expo in November.

Chen Jianwei, assistant general manager of China Shipbuilding Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, director of the cruise project department and director of large-scale cruise project construction, introduced to the media, including The Paper, that from June 6 to June 1, the first cruise ship has completed the weight/center of gravity and stability test, the watertight door flushing test, and various commissioning and inspection work and cruise preparation required after undocking to the dock. After undocking until mid-July, the commissioning of the cruise ship will be more cumbersome.

For the follow-up work arrangement of the cruise ship undocking, Wu Xiaoyuan, director of the production director of China Ship Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, director of the cruise interior department, and director of the interface of large-scale cruise projects, introduced to the surging news reporter that the overall progress of cruise interior has been carried out by about 85%. In any room, for example, the siding, ceiling, and lamps have all been installed, and ground construction is underway. The entire ship's paving (cement and other basic materials) has been installed, carpets and tiles are being laid according to the different needs of the interior, and furniture is gradually entering the market.

"The latter phase of work is expected to complete the inspection of about 6 passenger cabins and 800% of the passenger common areas in June, focusing on the remaining volume of the ship's interior." Wu Xiaoyuan said that in order to cooperate with the sea trial in mid-July and ensure the accommodation and life of the crew, the areas that must be completed include the crew's four main restaurants, galleys, cabins, etc., and now the interior work has completed a large number of 40,7 passenger and crew cabins, completed the completion of all public areas related to the crew, and the crew's galley has been gradually submitted to the owner in recent days. In addition, there are 4 cold stores on the ship, and so far, more than two dozen cold stores have been put into use, which can ensure that the cruise ship can have enough space for storage when it is out of dock for sea trials.

"At present, there is a certain pressure at every node, but fortunately it has basically been completed, and there will be some large-scale tests and joint debugging work in the later stage of docking, which requires close cooperation between engineers, technicians, commissioning service providers at home and abroad, as well as ship owners, classification societies and shipyards." Zhou Qi, deputy general manager of China Shipbuilding Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and chief builder of large-scale cruise projects, said.

Chen Jianwei told the surging news reporter that the more tense node is the time before the sea trial, and it is necessary to carry out various debugs, far more than a thousand, and it is necessary to ensure that the safety system on the ship can operate normally, including some emergency cut-off, safety management, automatic signals and other systems must be linked, with special logic, relatively difficult.

"The schedule for the next six months is very tight." Zhou Qi introduced that the first sea trial of the first cruise ship is currently scheduled for July 7, and the early stage is mainly related to the safety of the sea trial, including the ship's power and propulsion system, the ship's air conditioning and refrigeration system, fire alarm, lifesaving, safety management system and communication and navigation system, etc., in order to meet the necessary and minimum safety requirements before the sea trial, and also need to pass the approval of the China Maritime Safety Administration (mainly the approval of the Pudong Maritime Safety Bureau and the navigation review of the Shanghai Maritime Safety Bureau). In mid-August, the cruise ship will be able to go to sea for a second sea trial and conduct some functional and integrity tests. The shipowner's senior crew is expected to arrive at the end of June and early July, and a large number of crew members will board the ship after this year's National Day.

Three core technologies have been overcome: perfect tilt test results and controllable weight center of gravity data

As we all know, aircraft carriers, large cruise ships, and large liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers are known as the "three pearls" in the crown of the world's shipbuilding industry, representing the "supreme level" of today's global shipbuilding industry and symbolizing a country's comprehensive national strength.

China's large-scale first-made cruise ship "Aida Modu", with a total tonnage of 13,55 tons, was classified by Lloyd's Register (LR) and China Classification Society (CCS). It has a total length of 323.6 meters, a beam of 37.2 meters, a maximum draft of 8.55 meters, a maximum speed of 22.6 knots, a maximum capacity of 5246,2125 passengers, and 2,16 guest rooms; it adopts a pod-type electric propulsion system, equipped with two 8.3 MW, three 9.6 MW, 62.4 MW main diesel generators and two 2.16 MW pod thrusters.

The luxury of the "Aida Magic Capital" is planned to exceed that of a five-star hotel, and it is known as a mobile "modern city on the sea". In the 4-storey superstructure living and entertainment public area of more than 6,16 square meters (nearly 5 standard football fields), the cruise ship has a large performing arts center, large restaurants, specialty restaurants, various bars, cafes, art corridors, spas, water parks and other colorful leisure and entertainment facilities, as well as the largest duty-free shop on the sea, as well as <>G signal coverage.

On October 2019, 10, the "Aida Modu" officially started firing and igniting steel plate cutting at Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, and fully entered the substantive construction stage. On November 18, 2020, it was fully transferred to the continuous loading and assembly stage in the dock, and the whole ship was connected on October 11, 10, the first floating in the dock was realized on December 2021, 10, and the docking was successfully released on June 18, 2021.

"After several years of technology and market exploration, CSSC has clarified its development strategy to enter the field of cruise ship construction through international cooperation." Chen Gang, general manager of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and chief designer of large-scale cruise projects, said in an interview with The Paper that Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding is the first domestic general contracting of large-scale cruise ship construction, participates in detailed design, independently conducts full three-dimensional modeling production design and digitalization, docks international and domestic supply chains, and is responsible for the overall construction and engineering project management of the whole process.

Since the early morning of June 6, the "Aida Modu" has started a six-day water injection floating, displacement and undocking operation. Chen Jianwei recently told The Paper that during this period, the cruise ship completed the functional verification of the lifeboats through decoupling and cruise tests, and also used high-pressure water guns to flush the sparrowholes to test their tightness. Among them, the former mainly depends on whether the state of the lifeboat is operating normally, "Aida Modu" is equipped with 1 super large lifeboats, a single boat rated crew of 6 people, in the event of danger, a total of more than 20% of the ship's maximum lifesaving capacity. Under the premise of completing the frame load and lifting test, each lifeboat is decoupled, cruising and recovery tests one by one to verify the performance under normal working conditions and emergency conditions.

"On the whole, there are not too many high-precision technologies of cruise ships, and the most important and difficult task lies in the integration of the entire system."

Chen Hong, technical manager of large-scale cruise projects, said in a recent interview with media including The Paper that in the coordination process, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has completed and broken through many key technologies, including safe return to port, weight/center of mass control, vibration and noise, etc., these three technologies are the three core technologies throughout the whole life cycle of cruise ships, and they are also the technical gaps that need to be broken through in China. From conceptual design, to basic design, to production design stage, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding theoretically solved the problems of drawing and calculation of these three key technologies.

For large cruise ships, small deviations in the weight of empty ships can lead to large losses in deadweight tons, while deviations in the position of the center of gravity can have a large impact on stability, safety or passenger comfort. Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has overcome the key technology of cruise ship weight/center of gravity control by introducing digestion and independent innovation. Through this tilt test, the design and development results were verified again, and the test results were perfect, and the weight center of gravity data was controllable.

For example, Chen Hong said, for example, in terms of weight/center of mass control technology, the load capacity required is 1,<> tons, although it is very small, it also proves that it is more sensitive for the entire magnitude, and the weight control is slightly wrong, which may not meet the load required in the contract. So the weight of the ship itself must be strictly controlled throughout the process.

"From the previous route of lifeboats in case of danger, there has been a shift from calling the ship itself a lifeboat, which is the most basic source of the concept of safe return to port, and recent international regulations have also changed in thinking and concepts." In terms of technical breakthrough for safe return to port, Chen Hong introduced that the first domestic cruise ship implements this concept, in the event of danger on the ship, there must be more than a dozen important systems closely related to life on board, which can ensure the integrity of the system, so as to ensure the basic living needs, viability and safety of the personnel on board.

Chen Hong said that in order to achieve this technology, cruise ships face two main risks, one is water ingress, the other is fire prevention, mainly through redundant design of the ship's layout, so that the ship can safely return to the home port at a certain speed on the route. (The Paper)
