Bahia Salvador, May 5 (ZXS) -- On May 30, local time, CGN Brazil Energy Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CGN Brazil") Tanque Novo 5 MW wind power project was officially put into operation.

According to reports, the Tanque Novo wind power project (hereinafter referred to as the "TN project") is located in the northeastern state of Bahia, which is rich in wind resources, and started construction on November 2021, 11, with a total installed capacity of 25 MW and 180 wind turbines configured for the project, all using China's domestic wind turbine equipment.

Fang Likui, vice president of CGN Energy International and chairman of CGN Brazil, said that the TN project is currently the largest blade wind turbine in South America, with an estimated annual power generation of 7 million kilowatt-hours and can "light up" 2,43 Brazilian households.

Chinese Ambassador to Brazil Zhu Qingqiao said at the commissioning ceremony that China is the world's largest investor in renewable energy and the largest manufacturer of clean energy equipment, and the Brazilian government will also take the development of clean energy as a priority to promote development, transformation and upgrading, and China-Brazil clean energy cooperation has a good foundation and broad prospects.

Ephrin Cruz, Executive Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Brazil, said that in the context of Brazil's "reindustrialization", the CGN TN project is a successful example of China-Brazil energy innovation cooperation, which not only provides clean energy and creates jobs for Brazil, but also drives Brazil's energy transformation and wind energy industry upgrading.

Zhang Chaoqun, vice president of China General Nuclear Power International Holdings Co., Ltd., said that the TN project successfully introduced China's wind turbine industry chain into the Brazilian new energy market, driving 24 enterprises upstream and downstream of China's industrial chain to jointly "go to sea".

On the same day, CGN Brazil signed an investment agreement with the local government, Chinese-funded enterprises and local enterprises on cooperation in new energy construction in Bahia and the development of greenfield reserve projects.
