In early summer, Inner Mongolia is full of greenery, walking in the Otok Banner Mining Area of Ordos City, the original waste land is gone, and green mines are quietly rising.

Otok Banner is a highly competitive and influential county economy in the "small triangle" economic circle in the western part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the coordinated development strategy of Hubao'e, and contains rich mineral resources.

In 2013, Otok Economic Development Zone was identified as a national demonstration pilot park for recycling transformation, and in 2014, it became the first batch of national low-carbon industrial park pilot parks.

Recently, the reporter set off from Hohhot and traveled all the way west to Qipanjing Town, a small town located in the western part of the Ordos Plateau, to visit the story of the mine turning into a "green mountain".

Smart mines: Coal production does not see coal

"The task of patrolling the well of 3000,3 meters per day used to take two people three hours to complete, but now four robots patrol the well and can be completed efficiently in 4 minutes." Wang Long, deputy director of electromechanical mine at the Mengxi Qipanjing Coal Source Base (East District) of the National Energy Group, pointed to a row of large screens and proudly told reporters.

Since the trial operation of the base in 2020, through the construction of advanced 5G network platform, data center, AI core platform and wireless communication network, various subsystems have been integrated in series to build an efficient automatic control system to realize the whole process of underground operation of coal mining and coal transportation.

Wang Long said that through intelligent construction, it can reduce personnel and improve efficiency, so as to maximize the safety benefits of coal mining workers. "According to the traditional mine construction, about 500 to 600 people are needed, but now we only have 310 people in the whole mine, which has achieved unattended fixed posts and few people working on the comprehensive mining face."

Pang Bo, a bracket worker of the base comprehensive mining team, introduced: "In the past, the 20-meter-long working surface needed to be equipped with 150 brackets, and every 10 brackets required one person to operate non-stop, which was very labor-intensive. After the construction of the intelligent mine, only one bracket worker is needed for one working face, and the automatic operation of 150 supports can be completed. ”

Pang Bo said that through intelligent upgrading and transformation, work is now more regular. "Morning maintenance, mid-shift production, and weekends off the clock can give you more time to spend with your family."

Jianyuan Coal Mine, which forms a small green cycle inside, has an industrial chain of "no coal without coal", and safely transports the mined coal to the coal washing plant through a belt corridor of nearly 5000,<> meters.

After treatment, the quality of the mine and the surrounding environment of Otok Banner has been significantly improved, forming a new ecological environment of mines that is compatible with mining development and economic development.

Turning waste into treasure: Zashan into a park

Qipanjing Mine Geopark is a famous local attraction, with its shady trees and babbling river, who would have thought that the location of this cozy leisure park was originally a coal mining subsidence area.

Today, it is built on the junction of Qipangjing Town and mining area, covering an area of 2 square kilometers, and has become an ecological leisure park integrating coal mine goaf treatment, solid waste utilization, ecological restoration, and garden landscape construction.

"Through the coal mining method of continuous mining and continuous charging, the coal mining process and filling process are scientifically combined, and the mined coal is scientifically proportioned according to 85% gangue, 10% water and 5% fly ash to form concrete filling into the underground goaf, which can effectively prevent ground collapse." Yan Zhirong, deputy director of the Natural Resources Bureau of Otok Banner, introduced in detail that a park-like landscape combining ecological construction and mining has been created through filling and mining.

Walking into the park, there are not only ancient buildings such as Qingyin Pagoda and Suled Ao Bao, but also Chinese and Western sculptures, artificial rockeries and other unique wind objects echoing each other, sightseeing, leisure, leisure and entertainment and other facilities are all available.

"It used to be a messy place here, but since it was built into a park, we have a good place to walk our babies and children after work." Wang Ping, a local resident, was deeply moved.

"New Energy +": A "good recipe" for pollution control

There are 11 "unchanged" enterprises in Otok Banner, of which 8 coal mining enterprises are in normal production. The integration of traditional industries and new energy industries is a new path of green development sought by Otok Banner.

Green electricity as the terminal energy source not only reduces the emission of pollutants, but also improves the operating environment of the mining area. Electric heavy trucks can complete battery replacement in 8 minutes, reducing carbon dioxide by 126 tons and carbon monoxide by 7 tons per vehicle per year, converting clean energy on site.

In recent years, Otok Banner has vigorously carried out the construction of green mines, while maintaining the ecological red line and the bottom line of development, the former devastated mines have regained vitality, and a beautiful picture of ecological economic development stretches at the foot of Wurendu West Mountain.

According to official information from the Otok Banner government, there are 160 mining enterprises in Otok Banner, and 99 green mines are planned to be built. At present, 1 national green mine and 49 Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region green mines have been built. It is planned that by the end of 2024, all will meet the green mine construction standards. (End)
