Great Wall Motor issued a statement on the 25th, saying that Great Wall Motor submitted reporting materials to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on April 4, reporting on the use of atmospheric pressure fuel tanks by BYD Qin PLUS DM-i and Song PLUS DM-i, suspected of not meeting the standard of evaporated pollutant emissions from the whole vehicle.

The statement said that at present, Great Wall Motor is paying close attention to the filing and processing progress of the case.

Great Wall Motor statement

In response, BYD issued a statement on the 25th in response, saying that it firmly opposes any form of unfair competition and reserves the right to legal litigation.

BYD statement

BYD said that after understanding the situation mentioned by Great Wall, the test vehicles were purchased, kept and sent for inspection by Great Wall, and the China Automotive Center (Tianjin) carried out the testing of relevant items according to the requirements of Great Wall. Strictly speaking, the test vehicle does not meet the requirements of the national standard inspection status, that is, it should be sampled, stored and sent for inspection by a third party, and requires the completion of 3000,450 kilometers of run-in testing, while the vehicle sent for inspection by Great Wall has a mileage of only 670-<> kilometers at the time of testing.

Therefore, BYD believes that its test report is invalid, and Great Wall cannot use it as a basis. BYD said that our products and related testing meet national standards and have passed certification in national authoritative institutions. "Relevant departments are welcome to come over at any time to investigate, collect evidence and test."

The statement also said, "As the first company in the world to launch plug-in hybrid vehicle products, BYD has more than 20 years of accumulation and iteration in plug-in hybrid technology, which is not as simple as some peers think!" ”
