The concept of "Big Zero Bay" was born, with a total area of about 17 square kilometers.
On February 2023, 2, Shanghai officially released the "Plan for Promoting the Construction of the "Big Zero Bay" Science and Technology Innovation Source Functional Zone", positioning "Big Zero Bay" as a world-class science and technology innovation bay area.
From "Bay Zero" to "Big Bay Zero", it is not simply the expansion of physical space from one building to a group of buildings, from thousands of square meters to 17 square kilometers, but from an "innovation platform" to an "innovation ecosystem".
The source of science and innovation, the "source" is on campus. The scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship cluster area built around the university has unique advantages. Compared with the international advanced model, Minhang District began to build a "Bay Zero" global innovation and entrepreneurship cluster in the Jianchuan Road area of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and East China Normal University.
Ye Long, member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of Shanghai Nanbinjiang Investment and Development Co., Ltd., said that "Big Zero Bay" is an open block-type science and technology park around the university, hoping to create a new engine of Shanghai science and technology innovation center through the linkage development of campus, park and urban area.
At present, "Big Zero Bay" has been completed and put into use 18 high-level science and technology innovation carriers, a large number of innovation centers and achievement projects have been landed, and the open science and technology innovation block has begun to take shape.

According to reports, in the next three years, "Big Zero Bay" will also build a science and technology innovation base of about 120.200 million square meters, forming a total of 60 million square meters of carrier space.
