Various natural disasters caused a total of 4.4 million people to be affected, 794 people died due to the disaster, and 2,7 people were urgently evacuated and resettled; more than 1 houses collapsed, more than 500,2600 were seriously damaged, and 6,8 were generally damaged; 731.2 thousand hectares of crops were affected; and direct economic losses were 54.4 billion yuan (RMB, the same below).

In April, China experienced six strong convective weather processes, and 4 counties in 6 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) suffered strong convective weather such as hail, strong winds and short-term heavy rainfall, causing 23.332 million disasters across the country, 106 deaths due to the disaster, damage to 9,5 houses, and direct economic losses of 6.3 billion yuan.

In April, five cold air processes affected China, more than the same period of the year, and Northwest China and North China suffered from low-temperature freezing and snow disasters, local fruit trees were frozen, and facilities and agriculture were damaged. In general, low-temperature freezing and snow disasters caused 4.5 million people in 11 provinces (regions) including Shanxi, Gansu and Shaanxi, affected 132.7 thousand hectares of crops, and suffered direct economic losses of 189.9 billion yuan.

In April, China experienced four heavy rainfall processes, 4 rivers experienced over-warning floods, and floods caused 4,32 disasters in 15 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) including Hunan, Hubei and Fujian, damaging more than 52,3 houses and directly losing 7800 million yuan. As of May 6, the main streams of the Nenjiang, Songhua and Heilongjiang rivers have all been opened, and the situation during the opening period has been stable, and no major dangerous disasters have occurred.

In April, the drought in Yunnan and Sichuan continued to develop, and forest and grassland fires were frequent in some areas. Since mid-April, Chongqing, most of Guizhou, eastern Sichuan and other places have experienced significant precipitation, and the drought has been alleviated. Most of Yunnan, southern Sichuan and other places still have low precipitation, coupled with the high temperature in the same period, the drought situation in the two places continues to develop, 4,4 people need to be rescued due to drought, and the area of crops affected is 87.295 thousand hectares.
