The list of the top 2022 cities by GDP in 330 has been released. Among the more than <> cities above the prefecture level in the country, how can these cities become the best?

According to the data released by local statistical bureaus and public reports, Yicai found that the total economic volume of the top 2022 cities by GDP in 85 will reach 1.70 trillion yuan, accounting for 3.13% of the national total. From the perspective of ranking changes, Ordos, Yulin, Baotou, Ningde, Qujing, Suqian and other cities rose rapidly. At the same time, among the top ten, Chongqing surpassed Guangzhou to rise to fourth, and Wuhan surpassed Hangzhou to rise to eighth. From the perspective of provincial distribution, all 4000 cities in Jiangsu were shortlisted, and all of them exceeded <> billion yuan.

How has the top ten changed

Among the top 2022 cities in 5000, 56 have a GDP of more than 3 billion, 100 more than the previous year; Shangrao, ranked 3309th, with a GDP of 7.<> billion yuan, and the top ten are Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Hangzhou and Nanjing.

Compared with the previous year, the ranking of the top ten cities has undergone two changes: First, Chongqing surpassed Guangzhou and rose to fourth place, while Guangzhou dropped to fifth place. This is not the first time Chongqing has surpassed Guangzhou. According to the final verification of GDP revised by the fourth national economic census, Chongqing's GDP in 2018 has exceeded Guangzhou's 586.56 billion yuan, and in 2019, Guangzhou returned to fourth place with a slight margin of more than 22.83 billion yuan.

Peng Peng, president of the executive committee of the Guangdong Provincial Physical Reform Research Association, analyzed that Chongqing's area and total population are much larger than Guangzhou, and it is normal for the total GDP to exceed Guangzhou. At the same time, from the perspective of industrial structure, the proportion of tertiary production in Guangzhou is relatively high, and it was significantly affected by the epidemic last year. With the optimization of epidemic prevention and control measures, Guangzhou's tertiary industry will recover significantly this year. Of course, at present, Guangzhou still needs to make efforts in the emerging manufacturing industry and improve its technology and industrial chain.

Another change was that Wuhan overtook Hangzhou for the first time in three years, rising to eighth place, and Hangzhou relegated to ninth place. From the perspective of industrial structure, the added value of Wuhan's secondary industry last year was 6716.65 billion yuan, an increase of 7.3%, accounting for 35.6% of GDP. In the same period, the added value of Hangzhou's secondary industry was 5620 billion yuan. It can be seen that Wuhan's overtaking of Hangzhou mainly relies on secondary production.

Two cities in Fujian are among the top 20, with Fuzhou, Quanzhou and Xijiao rising two places. From Fuzhou, which ranked 18th, to Hefei, which ranked 21st, the gap in total economic volume is small. As a result, the rankings of these cities change more frequently; A similar situation exists from Xi'an, which is in 22nd place, to Dongguan, which is in 24th place.

There are currently 24 cities with a GDP of trillion yuan. Looking ahead to 2023, the "trillion city club" is expected to welcome new members. In 2022, the GDP of the two prefecture-level cities of Changzhou and Yantai has exceeded 9500 billion yuan, and both are expected to exceed the trillion mark this year. This year's Changzhou government work report proposed that 2023 is a decisive year for sprinting to the "city with a trillion GDP".

Changzhou is making every effort to build a "new energy capital". Before 2015, Changzhou's power battery industry was not strong. With the landing of projects such as China Innovation Aviation, Times New Energy, and Hive Energy, the integrity of Changzhou's power battery industry chain has reached 97%, ranking first in the country. At present, the production and sales of power batteries in Changzhou account for 1/5 of the country, and 1/2 of Jiangsu Province. The power battery has driven the agglomeration of the whole vehicle. With the arrival of enterprises such as Lili and BYD, Changzhou New Energy Vehicles will achieve vehicle production and sales of more than 2022,34 units in <>, accounting for half of Jiangsu Province, breaking through among traditional strong car manufacturing cities and large energy cities.

The 13 cities in Jiangsu each exceeded 4000 billion

In terms of specific provinces, except for the four municipalities, the remaining 96 cities are distributed in 23 provinces; Jiangsu, Shandong and Guangdong ranked in the top three; The 13 cities in Jiangsu, the second largest economic province, were all shortlisted in the top 6 list. Among them, 30 cities including Suzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi, Nantong, Changzhou and Xuzhou ranked among the top <>.

With Suqian and Lianyungang exceeding the 4000 billion yuan mark, the GDP of all 13 cities in Jiangsu exceeded 4000 billion yuan. In 2022, among the 13 districted cities in Jiangsu, Huai'an, Suqian and Lianyungang with a GDP of less than 5000 billion yuan are Huai'an. Among them, Lianyungang, which ranks 13th in Jiangsu, ranks 74th in the country. Although there are differences in the development of Jiangsu in southern Jiangsu, central Jiangsu and northern Jiangsu, the difference in economic aggregate between regions is relatively small. In terms of population, Qipu data shows that 13 of the 12 cities in Jiangsu have a permanent population of more than 450.300 million, and Zhenjiang, the smallest city, also has more than <> million people.

Shandong, which is also the third largest economic province with a high proportion of plains, has 11 cities in the top 21 list; In contrast, although as many as 23 prefectures and cities in Guangdong have been shortlisted, there has always been a significant gap between the northwest and northwest of Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta due to many factors such as topography and location. The Guangdong Plain accounts for only 7.8% of the area, and the Pearl River Delta is the largest plain in Guangdong. Among the top 8 cities in Guangdong, 6 are located in the Pearl River Delta region, of which Shenzhen and Guangzhou rank in the top five; Zhejiang, the fourth largest economic province, has 5 cities in the top <> cities; Henan, the province with the largest household registration population, Hebei, the province with the largest population, and Fujian, the southeast coastal province, each have <> cities in the top <>; Five cities in central Hunan and Jiangxi each entered the top <>.

Which cities are rising fast

From the absolute GDP ranking, many cities have risen sharply. According to the statistics of the first financial reporter, among the top 12 cities, 3 cities have risen to <> or more rankings, namely Xiamen, Yulin, Xiangyang, Zhangzhou, Ordos, Ganzhou, Suqian, Qujing, Baotou, Mianyang, Ningde and Shangrao. Among them, only Xiamen is a sub-provincial city and a second-tier city; The other cities are traditional third- and fourth-tier cities.

In 2022, Xiamen's GDP will reach 7802.7 billion yuan, an increase of 4.4%, surpassing the three provincial capitals of Changchun, Kunming and Shenyang, rising to 31st place. In the future, Xiamen is expected to enter the ranks of the top 30 cities.

Compared with the top 30 cities, the ranking of cities in the middle and lower reaches of the top <> list has changed more. This is because the gap between these cities is smaller, and in the case of a small base, that is, the total economic output, some prefecture-level cities have also achieved a large improvement in the ranking by virtue of rising energy prices or some major projects.

From the perspective of cities with a large rise in the ranking, Yulin, Ordos and Baotou are typical examples of rising energy prices. In 2022, the total economic volume of Yulin in Shaanxi Province surpassed Luoyang, Henan, which has long ranked first among non-provincial capital cities in the central and western regions, becoming a new leader in the total GDP of non-provincial capital cities in the central and western regions. The industrial output value of Yulin energy accounts for more than 80% of the industrial output value in the city; In the energy industry, the coal industry is the main force. In 2022, coal sales in Ordos are expected to reach 8 million tons, accounting for one-fifth of the country, an increase of 36 million tons year-on-year, an increase of 1%.

Lin Boqiang, dean of the China Energy Policy Research Institute of Xiamen University, said that cities with outstanding energy development are currently growing rapidly and have a good momentum, but they must also carry out transformation as soon as possible. When the industrial supply chain is repaired, energy prices will also fall. Therefore, these regions should take advantage of the time to accelerate transformation, accelerate industrial diversification, and increase the ability to resist risks in the future.

At present, major energy cities such as Yulin and Ordos are also accelerating the transformation of the energy industry, developing new energy industries and accelerating the development of non-energy industries. In addition to energy cities, some other prefecture-level cities that have risen faster in the rankings have achieved rapid economic development driven by emerging industries and major industrial projects.
