In the early spring, in the nearly 1,000-acre yellow tea base in Hexi Village, Dongpi Town, Yihuang County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, the tea trees all over the mountains are full of greenery and exude a quiet tea fragrance.

In another 20 days, here will enter the busy tea picking season.

In the tea-frying workshop not far away, Yu Likang, the person in charge of the yellow tea base, is instructing the workers to sort out the machinery and equipment, check the circuit, and prepare for the tea-frying later.

Yu Likang and his younger brother Yu Yongkang are from Hexi Village, Dongpi Town, Yihuang County. In 2015, the two brothers returned to their hometown, established a yellow tea base, and became "tea farmers".

"In the past, the conditions in the village were poor, and the elderly and women who stayed at home had almost no employment opportunities, and their lives were very difficult. At that time, we hoped to help the villagers get rid of poverty and become rich by developing industries according to local conditions." Talking about the original intention of tea planting, Yu Likang was deeply touched.

Hexi Village, Dongpi Town, Yihuang County has a mild climate, abundant rainfall, and rich trace elements in the soil, which have the natural advantages of growing yellow tea.

"With the help and guidance of the governments at the county and township levels, we have visited other places many times to learn tea planting techniques and gradually embarked on the road of yellow tea planting," said Yu Likang.

"You can come to pick tea during the tea-picking period, and I usually help weed and take care of the tea garden. The working hours are relatively flexible and close to home. Not only does it have a good income, but it can also take care of the family." Fang Chunxiang, a villager in Hexi Village, said that since working in the tea garden, , she can earn nearly 30,000 yuan a year.

At present, the planting area of the yellow tea base in Hexi Village, Dongpi Town has reached more than 900 mu, with an annual output of 7,000 kilograms of tea.

"Our annual tea picking period is about 50 days, during which the daily labor load is about 400 people, and each person's daily salary is more than 200 yuan." Yu Likang introduced.

Today, taking advantage of the spring breeze of rural revitalization, the yellow tea base in Hexi Village has not only promoted the employment of people in Dongpi Town and surrounding towns, but also gradually developed into a local characteristic and advantageous industry.

The changes in Hexi Village, Dongpi Town are just a microcosm of Yihuang County's solid promotion of rural revitalization.

In recent years, Yihuang County has given full play to the important role of rural talents in innovation and entrepreneurship, attracting capital and wisdom, agricultural industry development, and mediation of conflicts and disputes. It has gathered the strength of rural talents in an all-round way, and strives to create a village where industries are prosperous, villagers are happy, and the countryside is beautiful.
