By the end of 2022, Guizhou Expressway will have a mileage of 8,331 kilometers, and nearly 30,000 bridges have been built or are under construction. Nearly half of the world's top 100 tall bridges are in Guizhou, covering almost all types of bridges. It is known as the "Bridge Museum".

  Since Zhang Shenglin participated in the construction of the Jiangjiehe Bridge in 1993, he has been "fighting" in the field of transportation construction for 30 years, and the unforgettable experience of challenging himself is still fresh in his memory.

During the construction of Chongqing Jiangjin Guanyinyan Yangtze River Bridge, due to the turbulent water flow in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the large-tonnage floating crane could not reach the bridge site.

In order not to delay the construction period, Zhang Shenglin created the "gate-type floating crane assembled steel cofferdam construction method", which not only ensures the smooth implementation of the project, but also saves the cost of the project by more than 10 million yuan.

  During the construction of the Pearl Bridge in Wuchuan, Guizhou, the conditions were extremely difficult. Zhang Shenglin "retired" for more than a month, and researched a complete set of construction technology that is not limited by terrain conditions and improves the quality of the finished reinforced concrete box arch bridge——negative angle vertical rotation construction technology The technology has effectively solved the construction difficulties of arch bridges with U-shaped canyon terrain conditions.

  In the construction of the world's tallest concrete high-tower bridge - Pingtang Super Bridge, Zhang Shenglin organized the research and development of a new type of rear-feeding deck crane, which realized the construction of the entire section of the superimposed beam in mountainous areas, improved efficiency and reduced safety risks , the research results have reached the international advanced level, and the Pingtang Super Bridge also won the Gustavus Lindsall Award at the 38th International Bridge Conference.

  The Wumengshan Super Bridge of Naqing Expressway, which is under construction, is located in the V-line canyon area, with steep cliffs on both sides. Zhang Shenglin proposed a new bridge structure form - "steel truss-concrete composite arch bridge".

The bridge-type structure has light weight and good durability, and can realize the assembled construction of bridges in mountainous areas. It is also currently "the only one in the world".

  Over the past 30 years, Zhang Shenglin has participated in and presided over the construction of countless large and small bridges. He has successively obtained two national-level construction methods and five invention patents, and was also named China's "Top Ten Bridge Figures".

  "Whether it is building bridges or building roads, Guizhou has great advantages in 'going out'." Zhang Shenglin told reporters that Guizhou Highway Group has successively participated in the construction of expressway projects in Mongolia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and other countries.

  Georgia's E60 Expressway is the only international transport link that runs through the east and west of the country and connects the Asia-Europe traffic arteries. It is also one of the more representative and influential key projects in the national infrastructure construction along the "Belt and Road".

"Georgia's construction conditions are very similar to those in Guizhou, so the bridge and tunnel construction technology we have accumulated in the construction of mountainous expressways can be used." Zhang Shenglin said.

  In Zhang Shenglin's view, it is Guizhou's special topography that has created Guizhou's superb bridge-building technology and rich construction technology. "In the future, we will speed up the pace of 'going out', participate in the 'Belt and Road' construction, and contribute to the world'Guizhou plan'".

  In addition to building bridges, Zhang Shenglin has also focused on green road construction in recent years. Currently, she and her team are designing a green and low-carbon implementation plan for a highway.

During the two sessions of the country in 2023, she is going to put forward a proposal to "strengthen the comprehensive utilization of phosphogypsum and support the construction of public training bases in Guizhou".

  Zhang Shenglin said that he hopes to combine the solid waste generated by construction with industrial solid waste, promote the comprehensive utilization of resources, achieve the purpose of energy saving and emission reduction, and help the sustainable development of the construction industry and industry.
