China News Agency, Beijing, February 26 (Reporter Xia Bin) What does the Chinese market mean to multinational companies?

In an interview with China News Agency and other media recently, Wang Rui, Intel’s senior vice president and chairman of China, said that in the past, Intel’s products were designed in developed countries. It's really different. "From the root, the needs of China should be incorporated into Intel's long-term planning."

The 2023 Intel China Strategic Media Communication Conference was held in Beijing recently. Wang Rui revealed that from a global perspective, the Chinese market contributed nearly 30% to Intel’s overall performance. Intel's technology roadmap, product design and production, and various solutions are particularly critical. China must become an indispensable part of Intel's global planning.

According to Wang Rui, Intel's Chengdu plant has completed a large-scale expansion of production in the past two years. 20% of the semi-finished products from the Chengdu factory are shipped to Vietnam, so 70% of Intel's global PC products are produced through the Chengdu factory.

Statistics show that the scale of China's digital economy has been ranked second in the world for many years in a row, and new business models, application scenarios, and growth drivers continue to emerge.

Wang Rui said that in the semiconductor and computing industry, Intel has been "on the front line" perceiving the growth of China's digital economy, and has seen the "quantity" and "quality" of the digital economy fly side by side.

"As the digital economy continues to grow, the semiconductor and computing industries are playing an increasingly important role." Wang Rui said that in the process of China's high-quality development, digitalization and greening are like two-wheel drive, echoing in coordination ,mutual improvement.

Building a better future world is inseparable from digitalization and greening, and these are based on the semiconductor and computing industries.

"China's local innovation must be in China." Wang Rui said that Intel must have a more complete system in China that can use global resources, and at the same time have deeper cooperation with its customers and partners to provide them with Intel's large platform. Create more tailor-made solutions on the basis of

Talking about the recent hot ChatGPT, Wang Rui said that it has a great demand for data and computing power, but the demand growth will not be too fast, and it is believed that it will continue to promote new breakthroughs in terms of algorithms.

In the next step, Intel will work with Chinese customers to study how to deploy. "We have very deep cooperation with Baidu and Ali. It is worth looking forward to how computing power will help us establish a new model in the next step." (End)
